A traditional painter community recognized from its own style painting while later it is known as Kamasan. The art talent then growth in other art works like gold and silver sculptures. Later it is also giving birth for the sculpture art of bullet. However the painter of Kamasan usually using metal color fabric but actually it is describing wayang figures like Mahabharata or Ramayana figures. Further more they also told about kakawin story like Arjuna Wiwaha and Suthasoma.

It makes them addressed as old style painting while it is also being the characteristic of Wayang Kamasan. Kamasan painting deemed as very soft, sophisticate, clean, and simple in the other side it is not filled with unimportant detail. The simple drawing sends clear message regarding to the story. This traditional art works attract artist and visitors to visit Kamasan village. Kamasan village lies Klungkung Regency, Bali as it geographically located around 43 km from Denpasar. You can meet this village from the western track.

Western track starts from the middle of the regency area, then you have to drive along 1,5 km. Then turn left to go to banjar Sangging, a residence of traditional wayang painter named Nyoman Mandra. Going to the southern side, then you can find banjar Pande Mas, the central sculptures for gold and silver. However Kamasan provides an exhibition building in the western side of banjar Sangging, about 50 meters from the banjar. Here people usually selling their painting or sculptures. The visitors often visit the painter directly to their workshops or in their houses. The best time to visit them is at the middle of the day while the visitors can use motor cycle, car, cab, or dokar.
