This building is dominated by yellow color. Yellow was the color of the typical Malaysian. There are family photos, furniture and antique weapons in the building. Maimoon The palace was the legacy of the Sultanate of Delhi. Palace Maimoon placed in Brigjen Katamso Street, Medan.

Deli?s King, Sultan Al Rasyid Perkasa Makmun Alamsyah had built the palace. The Italian designer was the architect and the building was completed in 1888 Built on a land measuring 2.772 m2 wide the palace building is facing to east, and become the centre of the Deli kingdom.

The palace has two floors, divided in three parts, the main building, and left and right wing. In front, around 100 meters, stood Al-Maksum mosque that are well known as Medan’s Great mosque.

In the living room (Balairung) there is the throne, which is dominated by the yellow color. Crystal candles set fire to the throne, a form that influenced by European culture. The same factors appeared in the palace such as the seat, table, bathroom and closet and the door of Balairung. Moreover, there are 40 rooms, 20 bedrooms upstairs, the throne of the sultan and 20 rooms at the bottom, 4 bathrooms, warehouse, kitchen and prison in the basement.

Interestingly, when we see the architecture of the palace, we can feel the mixture between Islam and the tradition of European culture. Apart from the base of the building there was a Balairung that also affected by Europe.

The Maimoon palace was one of the most beautiful buildings in Medan. His location is easy to be reach, both from Polonia Airport (about 10 km) and Belawan Port (about 28 km). This historic building was open public every day from 08.00 until 17.00.
